Very desperate

Posted in Weight watchers recipes by admin on the July 25th, 2007

A year ago I started taking Celexa, I started gaining weight. My doctor said to exercise more and go on a diet. I have tried different diets without loosing one pound. I am also working out four to five days a week.I have recently switched to wellbutrin sr because I knew my weight changed when taking celexa. I have not seen any changes in my weight, and my boyfriend left me because I put on 45 and have not been able to loose the weight. He says I am just overeating.I don’t know if takig antidepressants is helping me since I get really depressed when I hear coments about my weight and the fact that I know how hard I work to loose it. I started taking the vitamin E and the omega3 . I sure hope it works. Before I had done any research I was going crazy because no one believed what I was telling them.

A success story

Hello everyone

I have not posted to this blog, but have been reading it since the end of Jan, which happened to be on the eve of my dr appointment. I went armed with evidence of weight gain while on prozac. For the first time, my doctor backed down from “no, it doesnt cause weight gain” to “well, it CAN cause weight gain.” At any rate, so far I have been successful in my efforts and I thought I would share.

I decided to start weaning myself from prozac and to eliminate the things from my diet which I felt caused problems for me, primarily sweets. Of course, that turned into a diet. At the time that I started, my body was actually screaming for a higher dosage of prozac, but I refused, even though the dr suggested maybe a different medication. So I first had to stabalize myself on 20 mg. Ive been off prozac since March 9th and to date I have lost 35 pds. And yes, there was some withdrawal. It wasnt as bad as I thought, but I was in a constant vigil and somehow just being aware that, that was what I was going through helped. The information from this site has been invaluable.

Soon, I will start working out at a gym to firm and tone. I have always been overweight but now I have a goal to get down to a normal weight and to become the healthiest person I can be. I feel as if a part of me has been set free. I also feel that if I can do this, anyone can. My advice to anyone setting out to deal with the same is to go slowly and be patient with yourself. I think listening to what your body says is important, but for many people, especially as fast paced as the world is today, its very easy to ignore those signals that come from within.

Best of luck to you all and again I truly appreciate the information from
this blog.

Favorite breakfast

Posted in Weight watchers recipes by admin on the July 25th, 2007

My favorite breakfast is a bagel with cream cheese. I use the “Western” bagels, Cinnamon Spice(sold at Publix), which are only 1 point and then I make my own cream cheese (usually on the weekends) by using 8oz Fat Free Cream cheese and a handfull (probaly no more than 20) frozen mixed berries that I have pureed in the blender. Sometimes I will add splenda depending on my mood. This is really good and tastes just like the full fat stuff and it is 0 pts for 2 tablespoons, so the whole breakfast is only 1 pt. Or splurge and have two of them for only 3 pts (2 for each bagel and 4 tablespoons of cream cheese = 1 pt). This is fast and tasty. Sometimes I don’t even cut and toast the bagel I simply dip it into the cream cheese and eat it while I finish getting ready in the morning.

Salmon in the pouches

Posted in Weight watchers recipes by admin on the July 25th, 2007

I love salmon but I am not a huge fan of canned salmon. I recently discovered skinless boneless Salmon in the easy to open pouches. Chicken of the Sea makes the one I tried. It is very good and very low in points. Throw some into a spinach salad and you have a great lunch or dinner!

Need help finding recipe

Posted in Weight watchers recipes by admin on the July 25th, 2007

HI all,
I seem to recall seeing chocolate pumpkin muffins that are low in
points and only a few ingredients.
There was one that only used a can of pumpkin and 1 pkg of choclate
cake mix. I am not sure the points in it.
Can anyone help me out?
Does anyone know a recipe that has made with chocolate? (I am craving chocolate right now)
Thanks!
Jasmyn
