No, I didn't contact my doctor before stopping. I just thought that since I had
done it on my own before with Prozac it would be alright. I went online last
night and it seems as though the normal way of getting off Lexapro is to taper
off slowly, lowering the dose by 5 mg each time over several weeks. I am going
to consult my doctor. For now, I am going to maintain a 5 mg dosage until I see
him.

First of all, are you doing a withdrawal with your dr.'s help?
I think 5 days going off Lexapro is too fast.
I am on the Celexa which is the "cousin" of lexpro, and they would not
have me go off that fast.
I am currently not going off, but I know that my dr. took me off
another med once, and it wasn't the way you did it.
Don't be in such a hurry, as you do have a sensitve constitution with
having panic and OCD...
Poll
p.s I am not going of Celexa but I am maintaining my weight thru
exercise. I am 140 which is higher than I was when starting Celexa in
2001. I was then, 131...
9 pounds higher, but I am determined to maintain what I am at, and be
toned and fit!!
